Freddie's Place is basically pub grub food combined with a giant outdoor patio, stage, and playscape. The kids will enjoy playing on the playscape and in the pea gravel while moms and dads can have a marg or a beer and some nachos.

The bands that tend to play here are kid-friendly stuff like bluegrass and twangcore. The kids really seem to enjoy dancing around and watching the musicians.

Dogs are allowed at Freddie's, so there's a lot of usually smaller dogs around. My daughter likes to point to small dogs and say "CAT!". I find this humorous.

Food is decent, location is awesome (right in the heart of South Austin), and the amenities for kids are just fabulous.
