story
Muir Woods National Monument is one of the finest preserves of old-growth coast redwoods in California, with many opportunities for children to see and interact with these awe-inspiring trees, some as much as 1,000 years old. There is a mile long path designed for strollers and wheelchairs through the trees and woods, but you can also hike up into the hill paths if able. It is very nice to go there on hot days, since the trees keep the area shaded and very cool. Summer and fall are the best seasons to see Muir Woods.
