Need a gift or supplies for a baby, toddler, or preschooler? Go to Citikids. This family-owned and operated children's store in San Francisco's inner Richmond district is the best place to shop for quality kid's gear.
If you're pregnant, you'll want to have your gift registry here. It's truly a one-stop shop, with an extensive selection of strollers (Bugaboo, Maclaren, Quinny, etc.), car seats (Graco, Britax etc.), rocking chairs, cribs and nursery furniture (Pali, Stokke, etc.), high chairs, diaper bags, bedding (including some great organic flannel crib sheets), and much more. The store carries shoes and clothes such as Robeez and Zutano, and stocks a good supply of preemie clothing. Their toy section is excellent, too, with a large Thomas area (complete with a train table where your kids can play), a lot of Melissa and Doug puzzles, blocks, musical instruments, kitchen items and art supplies, a play kitchen, dolls, Kettler trikes, etc.
What really sets Citikids apart from and above the rest of the baby store pack is their superior customer service. Every single staff member I've encountered -- during four year of shopping here -- is knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely helpful. Over the years, they've spent a lot of time with us describing the pros and cons of various strollers and infant carriers, childproofing items, beds, high chairs, baby skincare products, potty training supplies, etc. And they installed our baby car seat, and then our child car seat, and assembled a tricycle for us – all free of charge.
Citikids is open seven days a week for your shopping pleasure, 10 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday – Saturday, and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday. The store has a bathroom for customers (with changing table and diaper pail) and a small parking lot for about four to five cars. Metered street parking is available in front of the store and all along Clement Street.
