Family-centric Noe Valley is home to a myriad of good food and wine shops, restaurants, florists, and clothing boutiques. One such boutique, a must-visit for new parents or anyone seeking a baby gift, is Small Frys.

A well-organized, small yet stroller-friendly store, Small Frys is packed with goodies such as soft baby blankets and sleep sacks, toys for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers (from Whoozits to Groovy Girls), music boxes, books, clothing (newborn to kid 7), and shoes. Many popular clothing and shoe brands, such as Zutano, 3 Pommes, See Kai Run and Robeez are sold here. Our clothing favs: the San Francisco hats and the softest pajamas in the world by Petit Bateau. Be sure to check out their decent sale rack and the Halloween costumes, in particular the soft animal outfits and the velvety princess dresses. You can also score a beautiful pair of custom-made fairy wings here, pretty much year round. Free gift wrapping is available with your purchase.

In addition to selling quality merchandise, Small Frys also hosts special promotional events, such as an in-store photo session with a local professional photographer. They also have a community info-exchange board for locals and a cute, mini picnic table stocked with wooden toys and puzzles where your kids can play while you shop (visible from most spots in the small store).

Small Frys is open every day, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Mon. thru Thurs., 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday. You'll find metered street parking right out front and all along 24th street (included a metered parking lot across the street), and 2-hour curbside parking on surrounding neighborhood streets.
